Gratitude & Why Super Sunday instead of Small Business Saturday - posted November 20, 2017
Gratitude is an overwhelming feeling for me at the moment.
My hero - my mom, passed away a few weeks ago.
Many of you have met her over the past couple of years at the shop.
Her favorite place to be was at the Dragonfly.
If you happened to come in on a Tuesday, you'd see her sitting in the office, "working", or trying on jewelry, or puttering around in the garden...

or even dancing in the front room.
She was my biggest fan, and the feeling was mutual. She was so proud of me and what was happening at the shop,
no matter what state of upheaval it was in.
And, she loved my boys. Time spent with them was joyful for her...just look at that face. Even a simple ride in my son's jeep brought a smile to her face. She was the epitome of "it's not the destination, it's the journey".

These are some of my favorite pictures. My mom is with her sister, and because my aunt lived on the East Coast, they didn't get to see each other much... but, oh when they did, they'd pick right up, just like my sisters and I do. I think my mom must have tapped her sister on the shoulder on her way to heaven, since my aunt followed her a few days later.
My gratitude is for the memories, for the shared laughter, for the joy...
and let's not forget the dancing.
