Worm Composting Workshop

Worm composting can result in ‘gold’ for your garden. Composting is all the rage today. We often hear about the benefits to the environment for recycling glass, paper, plastic and how to compost our yard waste. If you want to see quick results for your composting efforts you should give vermicomposting a try. 
Vermicomposting, or worm composting, is the process of using kitchen waste and earthworms together to produce gardener’s gold! Worms use food scraps and other organic material to provide us with a valuable soil amendment called vermicompost. Basically speaking, it is the breaking down of organic matter by worms. Worms eat the food scraps, which becomes compost as they pass through the worm’s body. 

This is great family fun, as everybody in the family can participate at home. (We will be offering kid’s classes too. Stay tuned)
